At this special time, Andrews University would like to take an opportunity to express our gratitude for our student veterans' service to our country. Our University is thankful and proud that these students have chosen Andrews University to reach their educational goals.

To help honor their service, we are planning to recognize our Andrews University veterans during one of the Tuesday choice options on Nov. 10, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. The program will be held in Newbold Auditorium, Buller Hall.

Additional Veterans Day events:

Nov. 10: Pizza dinner invitation for Andrews student/staff veterans & families, dependents of veterans (Buller Hall, Student Lobby 5:30pm) Please RSVP at veterans@andrews.edu to help plan for head count.

Nov. 10: Tuesday choice—testimony with Army Veteran Pastor Taariq Patel, Andrews University alumnus, Buller Hall Auditorium, 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m.

Nov. 11: Afternoon Pop-Up- Join AU Veteran's Services and AU SILA (Student Involvement, Leadership, and Activities) in the Campus Center for a special treat in honor of those who have served our country. Our delectable special treat is first come, first served.

This time of remembrance and recognition is crucial. Throughout our history, military service members have put on their uniforms to protect our nation’s values and liberties.

For our Veterans Day events, we will focus on the U.S. Veterans Administration’s 2026 theme of America’s 250th Anniversary.

For 250 years, Veterans and service members have defended our nation with honor, courage and dedication. As we mark this historic milestone, we recognize every individual who has worn the

uniform and answered the call to serve. Their sacrifice has safeguarded our freedoms and shaped the values that define America. We honor their legacy and reaffirm our commitment to supporting all who have served in the past, are serving now, and will serve in the future

With that theme, Andrews University wants to recognize our student veterans and their fellow veterans who have made a sacrifice to serve our country. As we look back on their service, and on centuries of veterans’ service and sacrifice, we must always maintain a vision for the future. We hope that we can continue to honor all who served, while also focusing on the needs of the next generation of veterans.

If you have had a meaningful experience in your own service to your country and would be willing to share some of those experiences with others, we would love to hear from you. You can share your experiences and memories either in words or images. Please connect with Fares Magesa, our Andrews University veteran certifying official, at veterans@andrews.edu.

We look forward to seeing you at these Veterans Day events. For our student veterans, if you are unable to join us, please accept our grateful thanks with this note.

Thu, 05 Nov 2026 20:47:38 +0000 2026-27 Student Loan News http://www.andrews.edu/agenda/64450
Taking out loans?

Starting with the 2026-27 academic year, recent federal law (OBBBA) will impact borrower’s aggregate loan amount to borrow, annual limit to borrow, ability to borrow PLUS and amount to disburse.
